12 Things Your Parents Want to Tell You

  1. Don’t procrastinate! Study a little at a time throughout the semester.
  2. Don’t miss a class. (At some point you will regret it.)
  3. Make a new friend every day. You never know who you might be working for later in life. Get to know other students in your classes.
  4. Budget your money each week.
  5. Find a church home.
  6. Get up, pray, eat a good breakfast and have a positive attitude.
  7. Wash your clothes and keep your dorm or apartment clean.
  8. Get involved in school (clubs, activities, intramurals, etc.).
  9. Remember that your family is always there for you (home and church).
  10. Take time to think about what you want to do. Dream and imagine your ideal career.
  11. Get to know your professors.
  12. Carry a planner (use a computer or a spiral planner) and keep it organized.
